Annick Goutal was a pianist and model. Once, while collaborating with perfumers on the creation of facial cream, she discovered her calling—perfume. In 1980, Annick Goutal launched her 1st fragrance assortment. In the mid-1980s, her company was bought by the Taittinger Group, which Starwood Capital later bought. Annick Goutal passed away in 1999, and since then, her daughter Camille, to whom she dedicated one of her fragrances, has successfully on her mother's work mother and continues to create fragrances together with the perfumer Isabelle Doyen.

The earliest edition was created in 1980; the newest is from 2019. Annick Goutal fragrances were created with perfumers Camille Goutal, Annick Goutal, Isabelle Elder, Francis Ventail, Philippine Courtière, and Mathieu Nardin.
